Breitenseer Lichtspiele
The Breitenseer Lichtspiele are Vienna’s oldest cinema and one of the oldest continuously operating cinemas in the world. Founded in 1905 and located at their current site since 1909, they represent an important institution of Vienna’s film and neighbourhood culture.
With a programme that spans arthouse cinema, historical formats, film screenings with live accompaniment, contemporary special series as well as music, literature and other cultural programmes, the Breitenseer Lichtspiele combine cultural continuity with a clear curatorial profile. Their long-standing role as a local cultural venue has gradually been complemented by a wider appeal to audiences with a strong interest in film history, film art and distinctive cinema experiences.
Konnektom supports the Breitenseer Lichtspiele in communication and sponsoring activities and provides strategic consulting. The collaboration focuses on strengthening the cinema’s public presence, developing partnerships and supporting its positioning as a historically significant and programmatically distinctive venue within Vienna’s cultural landscape.
