UPDATES
ARCH-E Glossary Expansion
Contributions by the Estonian Association of Architects (EAL), the Latvian Association of Architects (LAS), the Order of Architects (OA) in Portugal, the Romanian Order of Architects (OAR) and the Slovak Chamber of Architects (SKA) have expanded the scope of the ARCH-E Glossary to include 16 country-specific descriptions of architectural design competition systems and approximately 1.250 individually written, bilingual definitions. The glossary’s current size is equivalent to roughly five issues of domus. Anna Resch and Sebastian Jobst of Konnektom managed the glossary expansion on behalf of the Architects' Council of Europe.

a+f+v x Bezirksmuseum Penzing
A collaboration between art+film+vienna and Bezirksmuseum Penzing, brought three films from this year’s festival selection into dialogue with the museum’s current exhibitions. The screenings invited visitors to shift perspectives and explore exhibition themes through associative, cinematic journeys.

ARCH-E Conference in Brussels
The ARCH-E × ACE Conference in Brussels marked the conclusion of a landmark EU project on Architectural Design Competitions (ADCs) — with 45 speakers from across Europe, a joint declaration by International Union of Architects and Architects' Council of Europe , a key note by Adam Caruso, and a closing statement by EU Commissioner for Culture Glenn Micallef.

a+f+v Guest at FISURA in Mexico City
Following the successful collaboration between the two experimental film festivals art + film + vienna and FISURA during the second edition of a+f+v in May 2025, Anna Resch and Sebastian Jobst have selected a short film program at the invitation of Estefanía Díaz and Carlos Cruz, the directors of the Mexican festival.
Films by Julian Berger, Florian Kindlinger & Peter Kutin, Dieter Kovačič & Billy Roisz, Vera Sebert, Total Refusal, and Paul Wenninger will be screened on September 19 at the Casa de la Primera Imprenta de la Universidad, located in the historic center of Mexico City.
ARCH-E | White Paper Published
The ARCH-E White Paper culminates the efforts of the Creative Europe project to date. Based on research activities and previous work on country-specific architectural design competition (ADC) systems and their legal frameworks, the project consortium has defined 10 recommendations to improve the European ADC system. In addition, the White Paper presents country-specific recommendations and a detailed data collection on the economic viability of ADCs, the analysis of which shows that ADCs produce extremely positive economic effects. In times of tight public budgets, such results should not be ignored; ADCs are used far too rarely in public procurement of planning contracts. ADCs are also an important steppingstone for young architects and SMEs, which account for the vast majority of European architectural firms, 81% of offices are even one- or two-person offices. These are often excluded by revenue thresholds, thus untapped creative potential and technical expertise.

art + film + vienna 2026 | call for entries opened
The third edition of a+f+v will take place from 13 to 16 May 2026 at the Breitenseer Lichtspiele in Vienna. Once again, experiments in moving images from around the world will light up the screen of what is not only the oldest but also the most appealing cinema known to us.
The call for entries via Film Freeway is open. The following deadlines for artists and filmmakers are to be considered:
- 31 October 2025 | early bird deadline
- 15 February 2026 | regular deadline
- 8 March 2026 | late deadline

Course at the Institute for Visual Culture, Technical University | winter semester 25/26Along this semester’s modul theme disrupting AI Anna Resch and Sebastian Jobst, Konnektom, will investigate strategies of using AI models in creative processes beyond image generation. Transdisciplinary artistic approaches, that explore media-specific potentials and risks will form the focus.

Konnektom
Founded by Anna Resch and Sebastian Jobst, Konnektom is a flexible platform for the conception and realization of projects in the fields of art, music and architecture. In order to best meet the requirements of different projects, Konnektom brings together actors with specific expertise from a network that has developed over many years.
Particular expertise lies in the management and coordination of complex interdisciplinary projects, in the editorial creation and editing of specialist content, and in media communication and PR. Konnektom has already developed concepts for newly founded cultural institutions on several occasions, both in terms of content orientation and on an economic level, and advises existing institutions.
Konnektom also initiates its own projects. These include multimedia contemporary music productions that can be seen at international festivals, as well as the experimental film festival art + film + vienna, which also presents performative and/or installation works beyond the screen.

Before founding Konnektom, she was responsible for communications for the Austria-wideArchitekturtage, Hermann Nitsch, the Theater Nestroyhof Hamakom, and many other exciting institutions and stakeholders as part of her work at art:phalanx. Together with Sebastian Jobst, she developed the concept for the visionary architecture award Superscape, whose realization she oversaw in its first two editions. She was also part of the editorial team of KONstruktiv, the magazine of the BKZT (2012-2014), helped organize the "hinderhof kontrovers" discussion series, and was involved in the realization of the two publications for the anniversary of the InterContinental Vienna.
Managing Director
From 2011 to 2014, as editor-in-chief of KONstruktiv, a multidisciplinary specialist publication of the BKZT, he examined the interactions between technology, aesthetics and society. Before founding Konnektom, he and Anna Resch developed the concept for the visionary architecture award Superscape, whose realization he oversaw in its first two editions. He also co-developed and implemented the discursive discussion series hinterhof kontrovers on current topics in urban planning, architecture, and urbanism. In 2014, he served as project manager and editor for the cultural-historical publication Tor zur Welt – Das InterContinental Wien seit 1964, which was named one of the 10 most beautiful books of 2014. In 2015, under the project management of the newly founded Konnektom, the English version Since 1964 – A View To The World – Hotel InterContinental Vienna was published, expanded by two chapters.

The project consortium consists of 11 chambers of architects, 2 universities, a webdeveloper and the 2 international professional associations for architects, Architects’ Council of Europe and International Union of architects.
On behalf o the Austrian Federal Chamber of Architects and Chartered Engineers Sebastian Jobst and Anna Resch, both Konnektom, are coordinating the project.

In the courses at the Institute of Visual Culture, Technical University of Vienna, Anna Resch and Sebastian Jobst, Konnektom, are investigating spatial strategies in art and architecture together with architecture students. The corses are organised within the framwork of the institute’s modules for the master programme.
In the winter semester 24/25 they were exploring the potential of non- or transdisciplinary perspectives in of other practices. 25/26’s focus will be on the search for artificially enhanced creative processes.

Created and realized by Konnektom in 2024 the film festival art + film + vienna will present experiments in moving pictures from all over the world on and beyond the screen for the third time in May 2026. The Breitenseer Lichtspiele have been congenial partners from the very beginning, 2025 brought a curatorial cooperation with the Mexican festival FISURA. Currently the call for entries for the upcoming edition in 2026 is open.

www.ro3kvit.comBeing a cooperation project of ARCH-E, coordinated by Anna Resch and Sebastian Jobst, UREHERIT is a part of the European knowledge exchange about ADC systems and how quality-based forms of procurement can improve Baukultur, societal aspects and even economical factors of (re)building. Sebastian Jobst is moderating workshops in this context and facilitating knowledge transfer between the ADC experts involved.
